SUNSET SONG
From veteran director Terrence Davies – The Neon Bible (1995) and The Deep Blue Sea (2011) – comes this adaptation of Lewis Grassic Gibbon’s highly influential Scottish novel Sunset Song. Centred on Chris Guthrie, the daughter of a Scottish farmer, this coming-of-age story tracks her search for independence and self-discovery, set against the prelude to the First World War. Reminiscent of Terrence Malick’s Days of Heaven, the film is both beautifully visualised and exquisite in its detail.
