SUMMER 1993

After her mother’s death, six-year-old Frida is sent to live with her uncle’s family in the countryside. This is the story of her struggles to come to terms with her grief and adapt to a new life, in which she inevitably disrupts the dynamic of the family into which she is inserted. Based on the remembered childhood of the film-maker, the film features extraordinary performances by the child actors, and the result is deeply moving but never sentimental.
