The BAFTA-winning director behind The Beat That My Heat Skipped is back with a vengeance having co-written and directed one of the most talked about films of the year. Eighteen-year-old Malik El Djebena (Rahim) begins a six-year sentence in a French prison and finds himself torn between two rival groups of prisoners (the Corsicans and the Muslims). Despite being illiterate he soon manages to manoeuvre his way through the prison politics and tries to survive his sentence on his own terms. This film will blow you away.
