PLAY

Between the years 2006-2008 in central Gothenburg, Sweden, a group of boys, aged 12-14 robbed other children on about 40 occasions, using an elaborate scheme called the ‘little brother number’ which involved advanced role-play and gang rhetoric rather than physical violence. Beautifully executed as a cinematic piece of art, Play is a compelling study on how people of all stereotypes play the game, and how thin the line separating them can be.
