Lunana: a Yak in the Classroom

  • PG

A young teacher who dreams of moving to Australia is posted instead to the most isolated school in the world. After an eight-day hike, he finds himself in the remote mountain village of Lunana, where he faces the daunting task of teaching the village children without electricity, textbooks, or home comforts of any kind. He wants to quit, but soon finds his heart changed by the strength and warmth of his students and the yak-herding community in this big-hearted Bhutanese crowd-pleaser that was nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.
