Louder Than Bombs, the English-language debut of director Joachim Trier, (Oslo, August 31st, 2011), is an emotional exploration into the impact of death upon the family unit. On the eve of an exhibition, celebrating the work of deceased war-photographer Isabelle Reed, a father and two sons grapple with her domestic and professional legacy. Through flashbacks and scenes grounded in the present-day, the film observes how each family member confronts, understands and progresses on from the painful memories of the past.
