The stressed-out parents (the film’s Mandarin name means ‘mum and dad not at home’) of brattish nine-year-old Jiale hire Filipino immigrant Hwee as live-in maid/nanny. Jiale befriends Hwee in this charming tale of family tensions by a young Asian director who himself grew up with a Filipino maid.
