The follow up to director Guadagnino’s I Am Love sees Tilda Swinton as rock star Marianne Lane, recuperating on the Sicilian island of Pantelleria with her new partner Paul, an idyll that’s shattered when iconoclast record producer and old flame Harry unexpectedly arrives with his daughter Penelope, bringing with him a dangerously attractive blast of nostalgia. A Bigger Splash is a sensuous, sun soaked evocation of desire past and present, with a screen stealing performance from Fiennes at it’s center.
